What is an avergae cost for disc surgery in dogs with no insurance?

I read on other similar questions that is around 7,000 all depending on what is needed and how serious it is. My Dr. said that my dog which is a 9 yr old Maltese could very well need surgery according to the x-rays. also to be sure about the surgey a ct-scan or a more detail with iodine is will have to be needed. one problem no insurance....
