It is possible for a Evangelical Christian to be a professional poker player?

Poker is a very unconventional way to make a living. It is a game that attracts both irresponsible degenerate gamblers and very astute "handicappers" who make a handsome profit from the game. It seems most people focus only on the degenerate gamblers who partake in the game of poker and are unaware of the skilled pros whose lives are greatly enhanced by the game. I, for the most part, am an evangelical christian who believes that the bible is the greatest authority on right and wrong. I believe that the bible supports my view that life is full of risk and that intelligent speculation is often a path to obtaining the things we desire. I also believe that poker is very representative of the competitiveness, intelligent risk taking, and rewarding nature of life. The lessons and skills that poker can teach us are of great value. Warren Buffett, the richest man in America recommends that kids play games like poker and bridge as part of acquiring the thinking needed to be financially intelligent. Also, many people don't know that Carl Icahn, the billionaire, paid for his college education through the game of poker. Whether or not you acquire these types of thinking abilities through poker, we are all better off acquiring them somehow. I think these abilities are a necessary ingredient to reaching the height or our potential as men and women. To directly answer your question, I believe it is possible for an evangelical christian to be a professional poker player.
