This girl likes me,at first i didnt like her but now im starting to see a better side of her?

Ok i first met her in the 8th grade and she was in my cl.At first i didnt like her because i thought she was annoying but maybe it was because i hated the 8th grade.She asked me out but i said no because i wasn't into her all like that.But now im starting to like her.I would go out with her but i dont want my friends to say stupid stuff.At first i was mean to her but now im a little nicer,yeah i was an @SS but things change.My question is,if she asks me out and i say yes.Should i worry about my friends saying ewww or stupid stuff?
